A bit about Carrie and Jenica
'Friends for over half their lives, Carrie Wickman-Dorn and Jenica Bedford-Pugh are crafting soul mates with a passion for creating, up-cycling and generally promoting the handmade, do-it-yourself lifestyle.
Carrie is a long-time resident of San Francisco, who after spending years slaving away at start ups, decided to follow her passion and start up-cycling retro furniture.
Jenica moved to San Rafael after living for 6 years in London, where she was inspired by a culture that celebrates handmade craftsmanship to knit, crochet and felt gifts for all her friends and family.
Never afraid to try a new project or method to create something handy, interesting, or just plain cute, we hope to inspire creativity in a fun, relaxed environment. Crafty Kettu ("fox" in Finnish, which is Carrie's heritage) was born out of our mutual belief that making things with your hands provides a much needed respite; plus, it's so much more meaningful to give and receive handmade gifts, especially when the process of crafting is a great social activity as well!
So join us in using a bit more of the right side of our brains and let's make some fun, gorgeous crafts together!
